A Gentleman’s Dignity: Episode 16 Recap

A/N: None of you unfollowed me omg I feel so guilty but the Olympics are actually taking over my life… Been waking up at ungodly hours to watch some swimming and diving finals…

Last episode: Yi Soo and Do Jin meet at a cafe, and Yi Soo tells him about her mother.

____________________

Do Jin is at an airport when he receives a phone call, which made him run out in panic. Jung Rok is being shouted at by Min Suk for taking off his wedding ring when he also gets a phone call at the same time, and rushes out, ignoring Min Suk’s threats for a divorce. Tae San also receives a call and leaves a meeting with some important clients.

The three arrive to see Choi Yoon sitting on a bench by himself, zoned out. They help him change into a suit and they all cry together…

Choi Yoon’s voiceover: Two black lines on a man’s armband at a funeral means that the man is a relative of the deceased. One line means the person is a friend. He notes that his two lines represent the greatest loss in his life, and his friends, the greatest fortune in his life.

-

Yi Soo asks Do Jin if he wants to go with her to meet her mother, and he stands up, saying that he’ll come.

“It’s better than me having to worry whether you got home safely or if you’re crying by myself somewhere else.”

Yi Soo’s mother lectures her on how she has been ignoring all her calls. She says that she’s in an inheritance law suit thingo with her stepsons as her husband is close to dying.

“I haven’t cared about you since you left me.”

“I was just trying to do what’s best for you! Also, please avoid meeting with your stepbrothers.”

Do Jin is sitting on a nearby table, closely listening to their conversation.

Do Jin goes to Jung Rok’s cafe where his friends come out, dressed in youthful clothing, to greet him. Do Jin finally lets out a chuckle and his friends shout “Mission accomplished!”

They reassure Do Jin that he shouldn’t worry too much about his work or Colin - he should work on his relationship with Yi Soo for now.

Do Jin sighs, looking at Tae San “The bandanna you’re wearing is the same colour as one of Yi Soo’s dresses.” Jung Rok stares at him in disbelief.

“Are you serious? Everyone has clothes that are this colour! It’s very common…”

“Yi Soo looks extra pretty in that dress…”

Do Jin finally decides to call Yi Soo but then he looks up, and sees Yi Soo standing in front of him. She tells him that she knows he still has feelings for her.

“Are you just going to let me go like this? Don’t you want to hold on to me?”

He tells her that he doesn’t want to make her into someone crazy… “I didn’t love you to make you into someone with a flaw.” Yi Soo walks away as he talks to avoid  listening to his feeble excuses.

Se Ra walks into Tae San’s office, and demands him to stop acting like he’s a good man. She screams “You should have just let me figure out my debts on my own!”

“Are you going to come back to me?”

“I’m on my way. But not now. You’re hurt my dignity.”

Tae San’s phone rings, interrupting the conversation. He hears that his mother is unwell and is currently in hospital. He rushes out quickly, leaving Se Ra. But then, Tae San finds out that he’s been tricked into another blind date. He sits in front of the young woman uncomfortably. Se Ra follows him and sits on a table next to Tae San’s, glaring at his date.

The young woman introduces herself as the daughter of the hospital’s director. She tells him that she wants three children and will cook twice a day. Tae San and Se Ra bursts into laughter but the woman is too /dumb/ to realise that they are mocking her.

She leaves and flashes Tae San a big smile. Se Ra watches her go and turns to Tae San “I’ll made you pay sometime at the end of the month.” They start to fight again.

“Do you just pity me?”

“I still love you! Even if you’re a fool!” Tae San shouts. He opens his arms and she hesitates before stepping into his embrace.

Min Suk goes out for a run and her husband surprises her by riding up beside her on a bike. He tells her to get on and plugs in earphones of an MP3 player into her ears. He says that now everything will seem like a music video. She hops on and they ride down the bike path. He talks as he pedals and points out that Min Suk is the shortest, oldest, and meanest person out of all the women he’s ever met.

“However, I still find you really addictive despite all your flaws.”

She grins in response and then asks him how to get the MP3 player to play. He skids the bike to a stop and panics. Did she just hear everything he said? He groans that he’s so embarrassed and she tells him to shut up and keep riding.

(LOL OMG HE DIDN’T MEAN FOR HER TO HEAR ALL THESE STUFF? or was that like on purpose…)

Do Jin goes to Min Suk’s gallery to buy a chair for Colin. Min Suk tells him that Yi Soo seemed to be having a hard time when they met a while ago. She gives him a piece of advice: A man who has said “I love you” to his woman should never say “I’m sorry.”

Colin moves into Do Jin’s apartment and asks Do Jin to raise his allowance. He tells him his mum used to give him $150 a week. Do Jin responds that he’s going to confirm if Colin is telling the truth and Colin immediately falters. Do Jin cuts the allowance money to $30 as a punishment for lying. (LOL SUCH A GOOD FATHER)

Later, Do Jin receives a call informing that his apartment has been put up for sale by his son. Do Jin sighs and sits Colin down. Colin apologizes for going too far in his petty revenge. Do Jin nods and then informs Colin that he has to attend school as long as he lives in Korea.

Choi Yoon looks at the bracelet Meari bought him and slips it on after some hesitation. Do Jin sits down next to him and calls him an idiot for being unable to convey his true feelings. Choi Yoon shoots back that Do Jin isn’t any smarter anyway and Do Jin agrees.

Colin is transferred into the school Yi Soo works at. She had reasoned herself that she should help Colin adjust to life in Korea.

At school, Yi Soo informs Colin that she is his homeroom teacher and shrugs when he asks if she’s uncomfortable around him. She tells him that parent-teacher interviews are required for transfer students and asks that his father come to school next week.

At the interview, Yi Soo tells Do Jin that Colin will be places as a second year student. She asks him if he knows what subjects Colin likes and what he aspires to be. Do Jin answers that he thinks his son plays the guitar. Yi Soo then asks him what his dreams are but she only gets a stare from him.

Tae San, Choi Yoon and Jung Rok gives Colin advice on life in high school. Tae San tells him to bust open the doors when he first arrives to give a powerful, charismatic image. He also needs to look the school bully in the eye and stare him down to prove that he shall be the alpha from now on.

Colin and Dong Hyub meets in the first aid office and Dong Hyub advises that Colin needs to study if he wants to make money in Korea. Colin asks if Dong Hyub is a good student and Dong Hyub coughs… “What I really mean is that money is my priority.”

Yi Soo walks in to yell at them for cutting class. She assigns Dong Hyub a 3-page apology letter and tells Colin that she will need to speak to his parent. (LOL OMG EXCUSES)

Yi Soo is sitting across from Do Jin and she tells him that Colin has cut class. He replies that he’s also cutting work because she called him out during the day but she doesn’t smile.

As he leaves, Do Jin overhears the other teachers gossiping about him and Colin. The annoying teacher says that Yi Soo has finally been knocked off her high and mighty ethics pedestal. She wonders if Do Jin has a lot of money. Why would Yi Soo date him otherwise?

Yi Soo and Do Jin meet again over the weekend and she confesses that she still likes him despite the fact that he’s Colin’s father. “My knees become weak and my heart pounds every time I see you. I’m dying trying to hold back my tears. How can we break up when I’m like this?”

He launches into a rant about how she has no reason to walk this rocky path with him but she cuts him off, saying, “I’ve decided that I’m going to walk that road. You just need to stand at the end of it.” She pulls him into a hug.

They later head to Yi Soo’s home and she asks him to pat her until she falls asleep. She hasn’t been able to sleep properly since they broke up. He strokes her hair as she closes her eyes. Tears flowing down her face, which he notes with a pained expression.

After she falls asleep, he quietly walks out and gets into Betty. An then, Yi Soo’s stepbrothers pull up to the house and call Yi Soo out for another meeting. The step siblings head to a cafe and the two men order Yi Soo to stamp an inheritance settlement contract with her seal.

She resists their demands and calls her mother and orders her to walk away with every single penny of her husband’s assets. One of the stepbrothers reaches over and rips the phone away from Yi Soo. He throws it at her.

Yi Soo gets up to go to the restroom to compose herself and her stepbrothers warn that she can’t run away from this situation; they’ll hunt her down at her workplace if this isn’t settled today.

Yi Soo coldly responds that she’s not afraid of them nor is she avoiding them and stalks out. She sobs in a bathroom stall for some time and then steels herself to walk back out with her head held high. Strangely, though, her step brothers scramble to apologize for bothering her and scamper out after promising not to show their faces to her again.

Then she notices the smashed cups around the table and a cafe employee demands that she pay for all the damages her ‘oppas’ caused. Yi Soo gives her a puzzled look and the employee shows her a recording of what happened while Yi Soo was in the bathroom.

The four men barges into the cafe and gang up on the stepbrothers. Do Jin takes a seat while the other three stand behind him. He introduces themselves as Yi Soo’s ‘oppas’. Tae San then sits next to Do Jin and swears so much that renders the stepbrothers speechless. Jung Rok then introduces himself as the oppa with a bottomless pit of money and Choi Yoon shows them his business card and introduces himself as Yi Soo’s legal representative.

And Do Jin says “I’m the oppa who loves Yi Soo.” And he tells the stepbrothers to contact Choi Yoon from now on if they want to speak to Yi Soo about the contracts.

The man who threw Yi Soo’s phone mumbles that Yi Soo is really living up to the value of her face, which causes the men to kick the table into their legs. The brothers howl in pain and Do Jin cautions that he and his friends won’t be as gentlemanly the next time the two men show their faces in front of Yi Soo.

The recording ends and Yi Soo wipes away tears. She rushes out and frantically searches for any sign of Do Jin but does not see a sign of him.

Do Jin, ung Rok, and Tae San prepare dishes for Jung Ah’s memorial service and fight over how to cook the food properly as Yoon enters with additional groceries. He glances at the three pairs of shoes near the front door and looks to his friends in silent gratitude.

They help Yoon’s mother-in-law set the table for the service and she pleads with Yoon to forget her daughter and find someone new. She asks the other three if there is a woman that likes Yoon but they awkwardly avoid her question and Yoon falsely laughs while responding that he’s popular with all the ladies.

The next day, Meari visits the memorial site and presents flowers to Jung Ah and confesses her feelings.

I know I’m a horrible person for asking but could you give me permission to like Yoon oppa? Can you make Yoon oppa like me? I’m so sorry, unni. I’m so sorry for liking Yoon oppa.”

The four men witnessed the whole scene. Do Jin and Jung Rok turn away from Meari and see a frozen Choi Yoon and angry Tae San.

That night, Do Jin takes a walk around his neighborhood but Yi Soo block his way. This time, she holds a box in her arms and he asks if she was waiting for him again. She nods and replies that she has been waiting for him for hours. He looks away guiltily and she asks, “Can you stop pushing me away?”

She opens the gift box to reveal a pair of leather shoes for him. She places them in front of him and his eyes widen in surprise. She looks up gently at him and says the same words that he said to her before when he offered her the pink heels.

Wear these when you come to me, on a beautiful day, prettily.”

Big: Episode 12 Recap

Last episode: Kyung Joon “If you don’t stop crying, I’m not going to care that you’re waiting for someone else. I will take you with me and we will run away.”

_____________________

Kyung Joon tells her that if she wants to see Kang Kyung Joon, she should take her ring off. On the way home, Da Ran keeps looking at Kyung Joon and he asks her if she’s considering about him or not.

“How can you talk about such matters so lightly?”

“Because I have no expectations that you will choose me… but - ” Kyung Joon answers, “but - are you - are you considering it?”

“Of course not!” (in a very… unconvincing tone)

Yoon Jae’s dad tells his wife that he found Kyung Joon in the hospital, and they cannot leave him by himself and turn their backs on him. Finally, Yoon Jae’s mum confesses that she already knew it, and that Yoon Jae saved Kyung Joon’s life from their car accident.

“Isn’t the debt paid then?”

She continues to tell her husband that she found out that ‘Yoon Jae’ is trying to find Kyung Joon’s father, and she will put a stop to it. She goes on saying that he has chose once to abandon Kyung Joon and now it’s the time for him to choose again.

“If you choose wrongly, I will never let Yoon Jae see you again!” (WTF YOON JAE IS LIKE 30+ YOU CAN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BITCH)

Da Ran is about to take her ring off to wash the dishes, but as Kyung Joon approaches her, she puts it back. Kyung Joon sees what she did and tells her that he’s not going to take that as a yes… Da Ran gets embarrassed and flustered and says “I’m not concerned!”

Later, after taking a shower, Da Ran comes out with the ring still on her finger. Kyung Joon sees that again and sighs. “I’m not going to carry you away just because you took it off to take a shower!”

“I’m not concerned!!!!!!!!”

Da Ran goes into her room and tells herself that she must be going crazy for getting so worked up over a child’s joke.

Da Ran asks Ae Kyung what someone should do to keep from falling for the young man next door while waiting for her husband to return.

“Move.”

Da Ran agrees and thinks that it’s the best way, so she begins to look for a school to transfer to. Kyung Joon sees her washing some shoes in the garden and comments that he will not kidnap her.

She tells him that he’s the one who started it all, making jokes like that.

“Just keep telling yourself that it’s a joke.” Kyung Joon replied coolly.

Da Ran yells at him “I’m not in the mood to match your childish jokes!”

“What should I do then? Suffer in silence, be patient, like an adult? What are you suffering from anyway? Do you miss Yoon Jae? Or is it because of her mother in law?”

“It’s you.”

Kyung Joon doesn’t understand what she means and thinks that she’s in pain having to deal with him. He tells her that he’s trying his best to be good to he.

“While waiting for Yoon Jae to return… laughing and being happy with you… that’s the hardest thing…”

Kyung Joon is confused. “How is that difficult? Would you have died suffering if I treated you better?”

Da Ran brings up his father and says that once they find him, he won’t need her any longer. Therefore, they should stop seeing each other ever again so they can continue with their original lives once everything is returned back to normal.

She starts to clean out everything of Kyung Joon’s and things that remind her of him. He watches as she throws away the flowers he gave her and the pandas they coloured. Angry, Kyung Joon heads to his room, thinking that she’s preparing to welcome Yoon Jae home, making space for him.

He takes a garbage bag and starts looking for things to throw out but he can’t find anything.

He shows her his empty plastic bag and says “Look. It’s empty. It means that there was nothing that you did to me this whole time.” He throws the empty bag and takes her bag, and yells “If I had fill up this whole bag, you would have definitely died already from all the sufferings.”

He turns around and leave. Da Ran looks at the empty bag and mutters “There really wasn’t anything that I did to him…” She takes out the filled bag and throws it at the rubbish collecting spot, with Kyung Joon watching from across the street. He walks away once he sees her back inside the house, but Da Ran comes out again and looks at the flowers.

“They’re going to wilt anyway so I’ll just keep them while they last.” She takes them out and proceeds to leave when she saw the pandas staring back at her…

She takes out the travel guide for China and tells herself that one day she might go to China. She flips through it and saw that Kyung Joon had drawn these stick figures of them climbing the Great Wall - she puts it back into the garbage bag, and brings the whole bag back insdie the house.

She picks up the empty bag and whispers into it “Kyung Joon… I’m sorry. I like you.” She ties it up and we see that she has thrown away the ‘bag of her confession’.

Ma Ri and Kyung Joon discuss about his dad and concludes that the mystery man who visited ‘Kyung Joon’ at the hospital must be his dad. And he says that it’s the man’s loss if he doesn’t want such a smart and handsome son - and of course, Ma Ri agrees whole heartedly.

He tells Ma Ri to not tell Da Ran that they can’t find his dad. He has decided that once he turns 20 he will pretend that he found his dad and leave Da Ran’s life completely.

Yoon Jae’s dad finds Kyung Joon’s aunt and uncle’s restaurant and sees Kyung Joon’s mum’s photo hanging on the wall.

Yoon Jae’s mum meets Se Young and tells her that she wants the old Yoon Jae back, but Da Ran only seems to only want the new one.

Kyung Joon starts to pout when he sees Da Ran packing her bags to go camping with her family. He messes up her car to make her leave it behind.

Da Ran’s family asks Da Ran why ‘Yoon Jae’ isn’t coming and Da Ran makes up an excuse. But Kyung Joon immediately says that he’s actually not busy at all.

Da Ran quickly tells her parents that they had a fight. They leave and her parents call up Kyung Joon.

He pouts again  - “I was supposed to find my rock to add to the family collection with my father in law and eat mother in law’s kimbap, and watch porn with Choong Shik!”

Kyung Joon spends the afternoon cleaning the house and throwing Da Ran’s things away and when he goes into her room, he finds the bag of ‘trash’ and starts to smile like an idiot. He quickly puts everything that he was meaning to throw away back happily.

He learns where Da Ran’s family is heading to and quickly finds them. Da Ran is looking for a rock and she finds one that is pointy, sharp and harsh - just like Kyung Joon. She returns to the tent only to see that it’s empty, and Kyung Joon arrives.

He tells her that he received text messages from her parents. They are giving the couple some time alone together so they can make up after their fight.

He sees the rock that Da Ran finds. She asks him if that one is like him but he throws it to the ground. He sighs that it doesn’t matter since he’s not the one who’s going to join her family anyway.

They go hiking and do all these silly couple like things. Da Ran sets a timer on her camera to take a photo of herself but Kyung Joon bombs the photo. They start to play in the water and he throws her over his shoulder, she screams and calls him oppa to get him to put her back down, and Kyung Joon grins widely.

Later, they go to a local grocery store to pick up some supplies. The ahjumma calls them a well matched couple and Da Ran quickly tells her that Kyung Joon is her dongsaeng. He agrees that she looks old anyway, but Da Ran is distracted when she runs into a sunbae from college.

Kyung Joon scowls as he watches them hug. Da Ran tells her sunbae that Kyung Joon is just her dongsaeng and drags him outside to ask him to help find a new position for her.

(they do more cute stuff - sorry this part got lost after forgetting to save :( cbb to retype)

Yoon Jae’s dad drags his wife to the hospital to see Kyung Joon. But for a split second, Kyung Joon swaps back to his own body and when he opens his eyes for half a second, he sees the blurry outline of Yoon Jae’s parents and then, he’s back in Yoon Jae’s body again.

Kyung Joon tells her that he saw Yoon Jae’s parents - but he doesn’t understand why. She asks if he’s feeling alright and he leans on her shoulder and closes his eyes.

Da Ran soon falls asleep by his side and when Kyung Joon wakes up in the middle of the night he covers her up with a blanket and says “When I change back for good and wake up there, I’ll be alone again. But it’s okay - I’ve always been alone. Gil teacher, even if I disappear, please don’t forget me. Don’t just be happy that Yoon Jae is back but think of me too, okay?” And a tear falls from his eyes.

We see that Da Ran isn’t sleeping at all, with her eyes closed, she cries silently at his words.

Ma Ri finds out that Da Ran and Kyung Joon were all alone all weekend and freaks out and decides that it’s best to bring Kyung Joon back to the states. But then, she gets a call from Kyung Joon’s father and asks her to meet him. Ma Ri tells Kyung Joon the news quickly.

Da Ran tells her dad that she wants to move to another school that is far away. And she asks him how it was like for him, when he was 35 and her mum 19…

He thinks about it, with a smile of his face.

“I’ve tried and tried so hard to push her away… But the more I was separated from her, the more I realised that I would spend the rest of my life thinking about her. So I chose her. You just have to have courage.”

“How can this courage be found?”

“In that moment, I threw my mental strings into the ocean. And then my hands are free to grasp your mother.” He laughs.

Ma Ri goes and waits for Kyung Joon’s father at the hospital and Kyung Joon finds a spot to hide and spy on them when he arrives. But Se Young interrupts and asks Kyung Joon what happened between him and Da Ran because Da Ran seemed strangely upset when she learned that Yoon Jae didn’t actually cheat on her.

He tells her that Da Ran was so happy that she cried - that’s why she seemed upset. He walks up to Ma Ri and at the same time, Yoon Jae’s dad appears. (DUN DUN DUN AND OF COURSE WHEN HE’S LIKE HALF A SECOND FROM FINDING OUT THE TRUTH) But suddenly, Kyung Joon gets a headache and falls to the ground.

Yoon Jae’s father sees his son collapsing and rushes over to him.

“Yoon Jae!”

And Ma Ri runs over “Kyung Joon!”

But Yoon Jae’s dad is too distracted to hear it.

Later, Ma Ri wonders why Kyung Joon’s dad never showed up and Kyung Joon tells her that he’s done with his dad for the day, they’ll talk about it later.

Ma Ri visits Kyung Joon’s body and when she arrives at the room, she sees him (in his own body) standing up and looking at her, smiling. She runs up to him but then suddenly, he’s gone. Kyung Joon comes running in and wakes Ma Ri up from her dream.

Kyung Joon learns that Da Ran is planning on moving teaching positions and is upset. But they agree that Kyung Joon would need to meet with his family tomorrow for the mysterious gathering alone.

Da Ran asks him if he wants anything for his birthday and he tells her that he doesn’t want anything because he’ll throw it away afterwards anyway, and walks off. But he stops, and turns around.

He asks her what on earth did he do that was so wrong that made her run away from him.

“I needed an ocean I couldn’t cross.”

And he thinks that it means she wants to run away to an island or something just to not be with him.

Da Ran shops for Kyung Joon’s birthday present, and decides on a watch. The assistant asks if she wants any initials engraved and if it’s for her boyfriend.

Da Ran replies yes with a big smile and writes down “KKJ” on a piece of paper for them to engrave on the watch.

What she doesn’t know is that Se Young overheard the whole conversation. She wonders what Da Ran is doing - as it is definitely not Yoon Jae’s birthday. She walks past the counter and sees the initials “KKJ”. And her eyes widen.

After the headache that Kyung Joon got, he went to get a check up as Yoon Jae’s dad insisted on. The results come out and Yoon Jae’s dad learns that his old illness is back, and that he would need a donor to help out again, and conveniently - he’s lying in the same hospital right now.

Se Young calls Kyung Joon out and tells him what she saw.

“Da Ran was buying a man’s birthday present, calling him her boyfriend. The whole time she was waiting for the guy in the cafe, she took her wedding ring off and looked insanely happy!”

“The ring?” Kyung Joon lights up.

“Your mum (Yoon Jae’s mum) made Da Ran to agree that when you return to your normal state she’ll let you go.”

“Let Seo Yoon Jae go?”

“Yes. And I saw she wrote ‘KKJ’ to be engraved on to the watch.”

And Kyung Joon laughs. “Are you positive?”

“Yes.”

And he stands up quickly, grinning to himself “Gil Da Ran, you’re dead.”

Da Ran is waiting for Kyung Joon. She remembers her ring at the last minute and tries to put it on when Kyung Joon arrives.

“Gil Da Ran, are you cheating with another man? Is he the reason you were having such a hard time? Are his initials KKJ? Is it Kang Kyung Joon!?”

He moves closer to her and she puts the ring down her finger, telling him to stop. But he takes her hand, and slips his fingers between hers (with the ring halfway down her finger). She tries to pull away but he holds on tight.

Kyung Joon looks at her “The wind has already blown, and the boat has already crossed the ocean that can’t be crossed. What are you going to do about it?”

She looks up at him, and tries to pull away again but then she stops and looks at him. Kyung Joon inches closer and closer and Da Ran pull her fingers out of his grasp and the ring falls to the ground.

She closes her eyes and leans in. And Kyung Joon pulls her in for a kiss.

and they make out.

A Gentleman’s Dignity: Episode 15 Recap

A/N: Hi guys sorry for not updating for the past few days, I HAD MY 19TH BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY~~~ :D

Last episode: Yi Soo bumps into Do Jin and Eun Hee outside Choi Yoon’s office.

____________________

Tae San says that men become nothing more than dogs when they put on their army clothes after getting discharged from military services. The four men attends a reunion for their army and fools around (as usual) when an officer (played by Kim Sung Oh) asks for their attention. The officer is ignored as he is young and is a junior.

Some time later, Tae San and Do Jin tells the others that they are going to meet a very important client. The junior officer enters the cafe and Choi Yoon begins to bully him. Turns out, his mother is Tae San and Do Jin’s client.

Upon realising this, Tae San and Do Jin immediately tells Choi Yoon to stop and comfort the officer instead.

-

Do Jin is in a cafe, sitting by himself. He looks out the window and thinks about that time he got jealous over Yong Hwa when Yi Soo sighs over how good looking he was. They had noticed a guy singing by himself nearby and tried really hard to surpress their laughter as he was tone deaf. After chatting for a while longer, they decided to go and watch a movie.

Do Jin smiles sadly as he is reminded of the happy times they shared. Eun Hee arrives at the cafe and interrupts his thoughts. He tells her that they need to go to Choi Yoon’s office and ‘the kid’ is there waiting. She replies “you know, ‘the kid’ is called Colin. I know English names are foreign to you. So when I came to you eight years ago I hoped that you would give him a Korean name.”

(wtf i don’t understand)

He looks at her in confusion and she laughs.

“Did you really forget or are you pretending that you forgot about it?”

“What are you talking about? Tell me!”

“I never told you Colin was your son. I told you that you needed to meet someone before… when I visited you that time. You never showed up.”

Do Jin feels guilty as he learns that Colin waited for him for 3 hours and tells her that it must be he must have forgotten all about it because of his mental disorder.

They run into Yi Soo outside Choi Yoon’s office and Eun Hee tells Yi Soo that it’s nice to meet her.

“I had always wondered what kind of person you are, and I apologise that we had to meet in such a way like this.”

Yi Soo coolly responds and walks away. She waits for Do Jin but he doesn’t come after her. He and Eun Hee go straight inside Choi Yoon’s office.

Choi Yoon tells Do Jin that the DNA results confirms that Colin is his son. He continues to their the two parents that Colin had asked if Do Jin was rich. Eun Hee laughs awkwardly and says that maybe she needs to go and have a talk with him. She leaves and Choi Yoon asks Do Jin what he’s going to do.

“People tell you to turn the handle in the same direction you’re falling but you’re tempted to do the opposite. The only thing I can do is turn my handle in the same direction I’m falling.”

He then tells his friend that he bumped into Yi Soo outside and asks him to listen to her if she comes back for more help.

“If she cries, give her a handkerchief to wipe her tears. If she talks bad of me, do the same. If she asks about me, tell her I’m sorry.”

Yi Soo tells Se Ra that she saw Eun Hee, and her friend tells her that she should have pulled all of Eun Hee’s hair out. Yi Soo sighs.

“It’s not going to change anything anyway.”

“You don’t pull out others’ hair to change things; it’s all about making a statement and showing her that this is man yours!”

Yi Soo replies that she was at a loss for words when she bumped into Eun Hee. She is jealous that she knew Do Jin back when he was in his twenties. (HUH wtf)

Se Ra says that while she’s worried about Tae San’s future, Yi Soo is worried about his past.

Meari wonders if Yi Soo is sick and visits her. When she finds out what happened with her and Eun Hee, she promises the older woman that she will help her take revenge on Eun Hee.

The four besides Do Jin discuss about Do Jin’s situation. Tae San suggests that now that they’re Colin’s uncles, they should take him out and go shopping. And Jung Rok says that he is going to be an awesome uncle to Colin.

Colin enters a colourful cafe decorated with plushies and dolls and sees the three waving at him. Colin dips his head in embarrassment and sits down in hesitant. The men hand him presents to welcome him into their lives as Do Jin son. Colin looks back in confusion at their unexpected friendliness and kindness.

Jung Rok asks the kid about his star signs and blood types and comes to the conclusion that he is a sensitive person and one who needs a lot of love. He ‘formally’ introduces himself as one of Do Jin’s friends and a man who is as smooth as a cappuccino. Tae San extends his hand and says that he is Do Jin’s business partner while Choi Yoon says that he is his housemate and his lawyer.

Yi Soo learns that Dong Hyub is absent again and finds him working. She tells him that he needs to apologise to Sung Jae and also ask for one from Sung Jae’s mother as he was slapped. He shrugs and says that money is more important to him right now.

“You need to at least graduate high school in order to get a better job!”

“I’m working because I need to make money to buy books and pay for my transportation fees.”

Yi Soo is silenced.

Eun Hee calls Yi Soo and asks to see her. Yi Soo reluctantly agrees. Eun Hee asks her if she broke up with Do Jin, and if she loves him.

“Why do I have to explain my love life to you?”

“I loved a man named Kim Do Jin years ago. I got pregnant and I was scared, so I ran away. Do Jin didn’t know anything… I know that you’re hesitant because of Colin but I hope you can stop worrying about me. I have become a happy wife of another man after all these years.”

The three men (again without Do Jin) discuss Do Jin’s situation (again) and Jung Rok says that he feels bad for Yi Soo, and suggest that they should help the two lovers to get back together.

He tells Tae San to bring Yi Soo to his cafe and for Choi Yoon to bring Do Jin.

“Why your cafe?”

“Because it is an extremely important place in the history of their relationship. My employee told me the other day that they were making out in front of my cafe…”

Awkwardly, Tae San invites Yi Soo to the cafe. Yi Soo realises his intention and thanks him, because she has missed Do Jin and would like to see him. Do Jin drags himself into the cafe with Choi Yoon and the latter immediately looks up in an over exaggerated act of “What a coincident…!”

Do Jin and Yi Soo are left by the two men. But as soon as Do Jin opens his mouth, Yi Soo jumps up and says that she has an important meeting today and leaves a very disappointed and upset Do Jin.

Later, Yi Soo and Dong Hyub stands outside Sung Jae’s house and the teacher begs Sung Jae’s mother to come out and listen to their pleas about the incidents. Min Suk appears, turns out that she is Sung Jae’s neighbour, and steps in when Sung Jae’s mother dismisses Yi Soo coldly over the intercom. Min Suk (with her scary powers that somehow works on everyone) manages to get Sung Jae’s mother to come out. Yi Soo gives a quick nod to Min Suk and apologises to Sung Jae’s mum and tries to get Dong Hyub to apologise too. But when Dong Hyub remains silent Min Suk knock on his forehead and says “Don’t you have something to say, nephew?”

Dong Hyub bows and Sung Jae’s mum accepts his apology under Min Suk’s scary stare. And she also says that she will drop the lawsuit and apologises to Dong Hyub for hitting him, and turns around and rushes back inside her house.

Yi Soo thanks Min Suk for her help and says that she must know Sung Jae’s mother well… Min Suk replies that the rich only know each other through money and deals, not because they have any personal relationships. She looks at Dong Hyub and tells him that the rich people rule this dirty world, so if he wants to be rich, he needs to study. And she sends him home so she could talk to Yi Soo.

Min Suk asks if Yi Soo is feeling okay as she heard about Do Jin and Colin. Yi Soo replies that she is not alright at all, and asks herself everyday if she can be happy with a man who has a child that she didn’t give birth to…

“Maybe I can sometimes, but I don’t think I can do that all the time.”

Min Suk says that she knows that Yi Soo is stuck at her position right now, but she can also see that Yi Soo is leaning towards the side that leads her to Do Jin. Yi Soo looks up in surprise at how well Min Suk can read her mind.

Later, she hears the song that the tone deaf man was singing on the radio and at the same time, Do Jin is also listening to it. The song reminds the two of the happy times they had with each other.

Meari goes to Choi Yoon’s office and gives him a bracelet. He notices that she’s wearing a same bracelet (but white instead) and declines the present. She says that she’s not asking him to take off his wedding ring or for him to marry her, it’s just a simple gift!

She throws the bracelet away angrily and Choi Yoon tells her to stop using informal speech with him as he is 17 years older. She walks out grumpily and he sighs, and looks at his wedding ring.

Meari goes karaoke and sings until Tae San arrives to pick her up. He yells at her for getting drunk again and she starts to cry. Tae San calls Choi Yoon and shouts at him for making Meari drink everyday and refuse to go to college. Meari rushes up to her brother, panicking but she realises that he was just pretending to be speaking to Choi Yoon. The brother warns his sister to mind her actions and speeches.

Yi Soo calls Do Jin out and yells at him for breaking his promises.

“You said you would love me for at least a month! Why do I like a man like you? How can I want to see you more than 10 times a day?”

She demands that they should separate according to her rules. He needs to come out whenever she calls him and needs to keep the promise that he’ll love her for a month, and she will break up with him whenever he wants to.

He agrees. “I will do whatever Seo Yi Soo wants me to do.”

Yi Soo calls him out to go to restaurants, bookstores and to watch movies. They keep a small distance between each other on the dates.

Do Jin thinks about the times he has hurt Yi Soo in the past, and wants to apologise for his actions.

“I should have told you that I missed you. I, like a fool, believed that there would be another chance to meet you. I’m sorry for hurting you all those times because of my wretched pride.”

Meari drives Se Ra’s car to Jung Rok’s cafe and Se Ra sees when she walks outside. She goes to Min Suk and throws a fit “Why does Tae San have my car?”

Min Suk replies that Tae San has the collateral now because he took care of her money troubles. Se Ra is angry that Min Suk allowed Tae San to pay for her debts but Min Suk says that she had no reason to not do that, especially when Tae San is a dear friend of Jung Rok’s.

Eun Hee tells Do Jin that she’s going back to Japan that night but Colin wants to stay in Seoul. Do Jin says that Colin can stay if he wants to and he’ll give him a Korean name soon. He apologises for not taking a part in raising Colin all these years.

Yi Soo calls Do Jin out the next to go eat with her. She receives a call from her mother again and excuses herself. Do Jin asks her who it was but she does not tell him. Do Jin grabs her arm to stop her from leaving and she replies that she needs to meet her mother, a woman who gave her own child up to care for other children.

“Do you want to meet her and receive some tips on how to be a bad parent?”

His grip tightens and she looks at him challengingly.

____________________

SO LIKE you know how before the four men are like shit am I Colin’s father or not… that means Eun Hee slept with all four of them at around the same time right?

wow…. I know Do Jin was like “She didn’t throw herself at us” BUT HUHHHHHHHH

okay well pretty sure Jung Rok never slept with her though he just wanted to live in his own fantasy but seriously o_o

Big: Episode 11 Recap

Last episode: Kyung Joon looks at Da Ran in the eyes and says “When Yoon Jae’s back, they cannot be together again. You should just live your life as it was supposed to be.”

_____________________

Da Ran looks at him. “Really? Are you really going to disappear?”

Thinking that she wants to be assured, he confirms “Yes.”

Kyung Joon turns to leave but Da Ran grabs his arm. He tells her that if she holds on to him any longer because she’s getting confused with Yoon Jae, he will not leave. They go home and Kyung Joon tells her that he’s planning on finding his dad, he’s going to an art exhibition that was organised (featured? idk) by the professor who knows his father.

Ma Ri is stalking the professor, and of course, Choong Shik is dragged along too. She takes a lot of photos and Choong Shik compliments that she’s really good at stalking and she replies that she had lots of practice when following Kyung Joon around back in the states.

Yoon Jae’s father arrives and speaks with the professor, and Ma Ri snaps a photo of him.

Yoon Jae’s father is telling his wife and he wants to tell Yoon Jae about Kyung Joon. But she refuses. She tells him that she only wanted the baby to save Yoon Jae, he was born with a purpose. She asks her husband not promise of never revealing the truth between them and he reluctantly agrees.

Da Ran and Kyung Joon meet up with Yoon Jae’s parents. Da Ran is looking at the angels picture in Kyung Joon’s wallet and wonders if he has a sibling because there are two angels in the picture.

Yoon Jae’s mum asks everyone to go up to the room with her as she left a present there. Later, Yoon Jae’s father apologises to the couple for not being able to attend the wedding.

Kyung Joon sees a brochure of the art exhibition of the professor on the table and learns that Yoon Jae’s parents both know the professor. Yoon Jae’s father puts the brochure back down and the photo of Kyung Joon’s mum falls on to the ground, facing down. Kyung Joon picks it up (without turning it over -___-) and hands it back to Yoon Jae’s dad.

They have dinner together and Yoon Jae’s mum keeps saying things like “Da Ran needs better clothes to suit her role as a doctor’s wife” and “You need to maintain your husband’s image we need to buy more clothes”. Kyung Joon tells Yoon Jae’s mum to give her her credit card so they can buy whatever they want, and to stop bragging about being richer than Da Ran’s family.

Kyung Joon and Da Ran goes shopping and he buys her a car, despite her telling him not to. Then Kyung Joon makes her try on different outfits and they buy some. On the way home, Da Ran reminds Kyung Joon that he should act more like Yoon Jae, but he tells her that if he did, her life would be more difficult.

That night, Da Ran sits at the kitchen, drinking a beer, and feels guilty about not having Yoon Jae in her heart at all. Kyung Jae pretends that Yoon Jae’s soul is coming back and says “he’s coming” and completely changes his voice and tone to Yoon Jae’s.

He pretends to be Yoon Jae and tells Da Ran that she still looks really pretty now, but she tells him to stop. He puts his hands on hers and says that he’s still the same. She tells him to stop again and he does “Buing buing” to tease her. She smiles at his act and he continues to amuse her.

Ma Ri shows Kyung Joon the photos she took of the professor, and he is surprised to see that Yoon Jae’s father featured in one. Ma Ri tells him to ask the professor about the relationship between him and Yoon Jae’s dad. But Kyung Joon says he doesn’t want to bump into Yoon Jae’s dad as he makes him uncomfortable. Ma Ri changes the topic and says that his birthday is coming up soon.

He tells her that he came back to Korea because his birthday is nearing, “if everything goes according to my plan, then I’ll let you throw me a birthday party this year.”

“What plans?”

“Plans that will allow me to live independently in the future.”

(there’re these bank relating procedures that basically Kyung Joon, Yoon Jae, allowed himself to access his funds)

Da Ran is confused over Yoon Jae/Kyung Joon and keeps trying to snap herself out of it. Kyung Joon asks her why she looks so stressed these days and she replies that she’s trying to control her will power. He teases her but Da Ran accidentally drops the iron (that she’s been ironing her clothes with) on to her leg and Kyung Joon quickly carries her to the bathroom and tends to her wound.

He worries that the burn will leave a scar. He asks if it hurts and she says yes. He keeps on running water over her burn and blows on it to ease the pain.

Ma Ri drags Choong Shik along with her to go shopping for new clothes. She is buying more mature clothes (like his noona’s) and he is worried that she’s acting weird lately. Ma Ri tells him to stop over thinking. Later, she learns that Kyung Jae is going to the art exhibition with Da Ran and is upset.

Then, she gets a call from her dad, telling her that Kyung Joon’s father called him as he is looking for Kyung Joon. She hangs up and rushes over to the exhibition.

Da Ran gets a call from Yoon Jae’s mum. She is upset that they are at the exhibition and tells them to leave immediately. But Kyung Joon takes the phone and they walk up to the professor.

Kyung Joon asks him if he knows of a “Kang Hee Suk” and he replies “Yes. She was once a student of mine.”

Kyung Joon then asks “Then, do you know her son, Kang Kyung Joon?”

The professor changes the topic and asks about his car accident and if he really lost his memory and doesn’t remember the professor at all. Kyung Joon answers that he really does not remember anything else.

“Why are you asking about Hee Suk and her son?”

“I just want to confirm something.”

He takes out his wallet to show him the miracle picture but Yoon Jae’s mum arrives and drags him aside. He tells her that he’s here to ask about Kyung Joon, because he is trying to find his father as he’s in a coma. She freezes. He tells her that he reckons the professor knows something, and if she does too.

She awkwardly says that she’s never ever heard of the name Kang Hee Suk before when he asked. Ma Ri suddenly shows up and tells Kyung Joon that his father is looking for him and the professor isn’t his dad.

Da Ran tries to get the professor to tell her something but he says that he really doesn’t know anything. He apologises for not being able to attend their wedding and tells her that when Yoon Jae and her first met, Yoon Jae was in a rush to see him, hence he bumped into her.

Ma Ri tells Da Ran that Kyung Joon’s dad is looking for him too. But Da Ran tells Kyung Joon that she needs to go home and confirm something first. Kyung Joon gets worried and Ma Ri wonders out loud what is so important to her that she needs to find out first.

Da Ran rushes to Se Young and asks her if she lied about Yoon Jae rushing to meet her that day. She admits that she lied about that, and that she has realised that Yoon Jae and her are completely impossible, so she will not get involved anymore. She further tells her that Yoon Jae has never ever used her house key even though she gave it him.

“You ruined everything! You screwed it all up.”

“How!? I didn’t ruin anything at all because you and Yoon Jae got married anyway!”

Kyung Joon is waiting for Da Ran to come home. He notices that she is upset and asks her what’s wrong. She tells him that she misunderstood Yoon Jae - he has always wanted her.

Immediately, Kyung Joon’s face falls. He forces a smile and congratulates her on finally able to confirm Yoon Jae’s feelings.

“You can wait for Kang Kyung Joon to disappear now. I promise that I will not interfere with your life or confuse you anymore.”

Choong Shik finds his noona sitting by herself at school. He wonders if she fought with his brother in law. Then, Da Ran receives a call from Yoon Jae’s mum to meet her.

Kyung Joon is in the hospital playing with the kids again when he learns that a man has just visited ‘Kyung Joon’.

Yoon Jae’s father walks into ‘Kyung Joon’s’ room and sits by his bed and apologises to him. Kyung Joon arrives at ‘Kyung Joon’s’ room but there is no one else. He runs out of the room and sees the back of Yoon Jae’s father, and quickly follows him. But Choong Shik and Ma Ri suddenly appear and so he was forced to drop it.

Choong Shik is angry at Kyung Joon for making his noona upset. Kyung Joon wonders why she’s so upset when she should be happy now that she confirmed Yoon Jae’s feelings.

Yoon Jae’s mum tells Da Ran that she is not a person anyone would approve of. She calls herself a bad person and that she does not know if she can stay with ‘Yoon Jae’ and wait for the real Yoon Jae to come back. She asks Da Ran to leave ‘Yoon Jae’, because he is not himself at the moment. Da Ran refuses and says that he needs her right now. Instead, she promises that she will leave when the real Yoon Jae comes back.

Kyung Joon sees Da Ran walking out of the hotel his parents are staying at and reckons his mother made her cry.

Yoon Jae’s mum tells her husband that she is delaying her return to the states because she is worried about Yoon Jae. He tells her that he went to see Kyung Joon, and says that he wants Yoon Jae and her to meet Kyung Joon.

“It’s okay if you refuse, but I’ll get Yoon Jae to meet him anyway.”

Kyung Joon asks Da Ran why she is feeling sad still. She tells him that she’s enduring the pain like an adult should. He pulls her close and says that he’s still a kid, so he can know something is wrong but still does it, he can do whatever he wants.

“If you don’t stop crying, I’m not going to care that you’re waiting for someone else. I will take you with me and we will run away.”

Big: Episode 10 Recap

Last episode: Kyung Joon arrives outside the cinema and Da Ran looks at him saying that she feels really happy that he came.

____________________

Kyung Joon takes out his earphones “What did you say?” (He had actually heard everything but he pretends not to)

“Nothing.” Da Ran replies as she realises what she just said.

They go inside the cinema and watch the movie. Da Ran worries for Kyung Joon because there may be some gory scenes. Kyung Joon then asks her flatly “Do you like me, Gil teacher?”

Da Ran panics. But Kyung Joon continues that she may like him right now and calls her a man’s bug - meaning that the woman tries to be flirtatious to get men’s attention.

Se Young meets with Yoon Jae’s mother. She asks Se Young for a favour “If Kyung Joon wakes up, please inform me.” Se Young is convinced that Kyung Joon must be Yoon Jae’s brother, and she asks a friend to run a DNA test.

Kyung Joon asks Da Ran if she knows about a person that Yoon Jae has been looking for ages ago. Da Ran tells him that she has no idea of this.

They have dinner at Da Ran’s family restaurant and Kyung Joon’s uncle comes out to them and asks Kyung Joon why he knows so much about Kyung Joon.

“Are you someone sent by his father?”

“Do you know Kang Kyung Joon’s father?”

“Well… y-yes… All I know is that he is a teacher and is a man with a family.”

Da Ran looks at the picture of the angels in Kyung Joon’s wallet and asks who drew it. Kyung Joon answers that his father did. Da Ran feels that she has seen it somewhere before, but she cannot recall it.

They go and buy some souvenirs to pretend that they are presents from China. They buy some chains that has “Made in China” written on and some white bear dolls. Kyung Joon suggests that they can turn them into pandas. They argue where the black patches go on the bears.

They agree on having a competition on colouring in the areas they think are black and when they finish, they look it up on the internet and Da Ran loses (she thought the tummy was black OTL).

Ma Ri goes to their house the next morning and is pleased to see that Da Ran and Kyung Joon are fighting. She sees that Da Ran is trying make him eat his beans. To Ma Ri’s disappointment, Kyung Joon (with the help of water) finally eats them. She knows that Kyung Joon would never do something like this unless he has feelings for her.

Ma Ri asks Da Ran if she still hopes that Yoon Jae will wake up.

“Teacher, You want Yoon Jae to come back don’t you? You don’t want to be with Kyung Joon right? Right?”

“Of course I want Yoon Jae to wake up!”

Da Ran sees Kyung Joon staring at the picture of the two angels.

“You really aren’t ever going to look for your father?”

“I have thought about it in the past. But I really don’t care anymore.”

The results of the DNA tests are out. Kyung Joon’s biological mother is Yoon Jae’s mother.

As June 24th approaches, Kyung Joon asks Da Ran if she knows anything special is coming up. Da Ran replies that she does not know and Kyung Joon is disappointed that she does not remember his birthday.

She suddenly tells him that there was a book that Yoon Jae was in. Kyung Joon reads it. It is about Yoon Jae’s compassion for his jobs etc. He is still upset that she does not recall that he once told her June 24th is his birthday. He leaves, and eventually, Da Ran remembers.

Se Young tries to clear her confusion about Kyung Joon and Yoon Jae.

“Yoon Jae’s mum had another child, but that child was give away to be raised by another woman…?”

Ma Ri suggests that Da Ran should help Kyung Joon find his father. And Da Ran agrees that he will be an important person in his life. “Teacher, you’re not going to be by his side forever. His father is the last person he’s related to who may care for him (since his aunt and uncle don’t…)”

Da Ran is confused about her feelings to Kyung Joon. She doesn’t know what to believe in. She goes to the park and takes some fresh air.

Yoon Jae’s father arrives in Seoul. Ma Ri tells Kyung Joon that she found a professor that is a friend of Kyung Joon’s father. And at the same time, Yoon Jae’s father was visiting that professor - who knew about his other son (Kyung Joon) and the angels drawing.

Kyung Joon looks for Da Ran. He calls her asking where she is. Da Ran gets confused that her heart beats faster while thinking about him. The way it will if she has feelings for him.

“Where are you?”

“Don’t look for me. I’m not there anymore. I’m not waiting for you.”

Kyung Joon sees that Da Ran is hiding behind a tree, but he tells her that he gets it, and will not see her.

“Kyung Joon, please leave. I’m waiting for Yoon Jae.”

Dr. Park - the professor is looking at the drawing.

“One is Seo Yoon Jae, and the other angel is the other child right?” The two sons’ lives are entangled by blood and faith. Their fate consists of sacrifice and salvation.

Kyung Joon collapses at home. Da Ran receives a call from the hospital that something is happening to Kyung Joon’s body/Yoon Jae. Instead of rushing over to the hospital, she goes home to check on Kyung Joon.

She finds him lying on the floor and shakes him. Kyung Joon opens his eyes slowly and said “Gil teacher. It’s me. I went back to my body for a little bit, but came back again…” and he sheds a tear.

Ma Ri rushes to their house and finds Kyung Joon “Are you feeling okay?”

“It was painful.”

Da Ran asks Kyung Joon “Will I still be able to see you after you change back to normal?”

Se Young finally questions Yoon Jae’s mother and she tells her the story.

“When Yoon Jae was 12, he was really sick. We needed another child to save his life. We used a surrogate mother, (who loved Yoon Jae’s father). When Kyung Joon was born, we didn’t need him anymore, so we gave him to the surrogate mother.”

Kyung Joon looks at Da Ran in the eyes and says “When Yoon Jae’s back, they cannot be together again. You should just live your life as it was supposed to be.”

A Gentleman’s Dignity: Episode 14 Recap

Last episode: Colin tells the four men that one of them is his biological father.

____________________

The four men (besides Jung Rok) are huddled up watching the last episode of “Sand Glass” (A drama starring Choi Min Soo and Go Hyun Jung in 1995). They hold back tears and begin singing the theme song as it finishes. Jung Rok arrives and complains that he can’t believe he missed the last episode, and asks the others to tell him what happens. The three refuse and tell him to watch a rerun if he really wants to know.

Jung Rok gets upset and takes out his brick phone and the three friends play with it. Tae San says that it’ll be nicer if it was smaller and slimmer and Jung Rok says it might as well have a touch screen. Choi Yoon then says that televisions might start being hung on walls and scoffs that they might have to pay for water soon too.

Do Jin then say that if they actually proceeded to make those statements come true, they would be the Steve Jobs’ of Korea.

-

Do Jin tells Yi Soo that they are sending Colin back to Japan, because she seems to be annoyed and worried about Colin’s presence.

Jung Rok wonders if he’s Colin’s father. Tae San argues with him all the way back to Do Jin’s apartment. They then bombard Colin with questions, asking him why he’s only looking for him now.

“One day I realised I wanted to know who gave me my good looks.”

Jung Rok says that it must have been him and Do Jin asks Colin to show them his passport. It says that he was born in 1994 not 1995. A brief but tensed pause passes. And Do Jin speaks up, saying that he thinks he might be his father.

The others stare at him, and Jung Rok finally tells them that he met with Eun Hee a few weeks ago.

They immediately ask him why on earth he didn’t tell them earlier but Do Jin asks to talk to Colin in private. He tells Colin to call his mother right now.

Yi Soo is waiting for him because they agreed to go to dinner earlier but Do Jin does not pick up her calls. He finally decides to call Eun Hee.

The other 3 wonder if Do Jin is really Colin’s father, and Tae San says that they haven’t proved anything yet. Choi Yoon tells Jung Rok to get some drinks and then talks to Tae San more seriously.

“Do Jin must be quite sure that he’s the father, otherwise he wouldn’t have said so.”

“Eun Hee must have had a hard time raising a child by herself.”

Yi Soo is still waiting for Do Jin to return her calls. Her phone rings, but it is Meari, telling her that Min Suk wants to meet with her.

Yi Soo, Meari and Se Ra go to a restaurant to meet Min Suk. She tells them that Colin is one of their boyfriend/husband/crush/brother/ex-bf’s son. She says that one of them would be hurt once it is reveals. Meari and Se Ra argue if he is Tae San’s or Choi Yoon’s son while Yi Soo remains quiet.

Meari complains “I’m only 24! I can’t raise a 17 year old step son!” (LOL MEARI) and she asks Se Ra why she cares so much when they two have broken up.

Do Jin meets Eun Hee and he asks her what happened.

“Why did you make me a fool? Why did you disappear without telling me? You could have at least told me!”

“I was scared. But then I changed my mind.”

“You could have TOLD ME!”

“If I did, would you have wanted to him it?” She then continues “Nothing has changed. I don’t want to ruin anyone’s life. I don’t want anything from you.”

Eun Hee meets her son and yells at him for doing this behind her back.

“I knew Do Jin was my father the moment I saw him.”

“Don’t you know that I’m happily married right now? Why did you ruin this?”

“I was curious. Did you ever regret not having an abortion.”

“Yes. I regret it today.”

Do Jin tells the others that Colin is definitely his son. They ask him what he wants to do now and he replies that he needs to speak to Yi Soo. Jung Rok tells him that Yi Soo/Se Ra/Meari/Min Suk know of the situation, but they don’t know who the father is yet.

Do Jin tells his friends to reassure their ‘other halves’ that he’s the father to calm them down. Meari meets with Choi Yoon and tells him that she will raise Colin as her own. Choi Yoon facepalms.

Jung Rok tells Choi Yoon that he may not find another woman who is so in love with, that Meari may be the one for him. And then he rushes to Min Suk to tell her that Colin is not his son.

“Prove it.”

“There are three reasons. 1. Colin is a handsome boy. 2. He has a small face. 3. He has double eyelids.”

She nods in agreement. (LOL!!!!!!! WTF) And then tells him that he can stay fo dinner. Jung Rok is over the moon.

Se Ra meets with Tae San. She tells him that as a friend, she will stay by his side if he’s in trouble.

“I don’t need your pity. I want our relationship to end altogether. I never understand why people keep in touch with their ex boy/girlfriends.” He exits the cafe and leaves a crying Se Ra sitting by herself.

Yi Soo finally gets a call from Do Jin and he says they need to talk. Yi Soo replies that she’ll go over to his apartment. When they meet, Do Jin apologises for what he will say next.

“I have to take back the promise of wanting to live together and I’m going to cancel my words about living together. I cannot fulfill your request of not leaving you before you leave me. I am a horrible bastard. Please forget me.”

“Is Colin your son?”

“Yes.”

“I don’t have the right to love a woman forever. This is my punishment for being so conceited during my life.”

She goes home (forced to be driven by Do Jin), and wines and cries. Tears also fall down his face back in his apartment.

The next day, Sung Jae (the boy who criticised Yi Soo and was threatened by Dong Hyub)’s mother slaps Dong Hyub for bullying he son. Yi Soo tells her to calm down and talk outside. Dong Hyub leaves before Yi Soo could talk to him.

Yi Soo goes drinking by herself that night in the baseball field and Tae San arrives later. He asks if she’s okay and she replies that she’s not. She complains that Do Jin broke up with her without giving her time to think about it or a proper explanation.

Tae San replies that he would have done the same. “Giving someone time to think is asking the person to stay with you. He probably feels that he doesn’t deserve you to stay.”

Jung Rok tells Tae San that Min Suk has Se Ra’s car as a collateral for a loan. He asks Min Suk and she confirms it.

“She put her pride down to borrow money from me. Maybe you should pretend that you never found out.”

Do Jin tells Colin that only two things are on his mind right now.

“I have a son. And I just lost someone who is really important to me.”

Colin then asks for a piece of his hair so he can do a DNA test. The results come out to confirm that they are definitely father and son.

Sung Jae’s mother is going to sue the school and Yi Soo goes to Choi Yoon for help. She bumps into Do Jin and Eun Hee there. The two parties share a very intense pause.

Yi Soo tries to walk away but Do Jin blocks her. Yi Soo looks up and the two woman stare at each other.

A Gentleman’s Dignity: Episode 13 Recap

Last episode: Do Jin asks Yi Soo to spend her future with him.

_____________________

Every time one gets heart broken, the four go drinking to comfort each other by saying “A woman needs another to be forgotten. You’re forget her.” One time, Tae San has to leave to study somewhere else, at the farewell, he is embarrassed that he does not have a girlfriend to share a tearful farewell with. His friends give him hugs but ask if they could use his things while he’s gone. This anger Tae San and he does every rude action in every country and swears with all the words he has ever learned.

-

Yi Soo’s first reaction is “Why did you speak informally?” And continues that they don’t know each other well enough yet. They have only started dating for a while.

“Is time a problem? We still have the future to know each other.”

“Whatever. My answer is still no.”

She turns around and goes home. As soon as she closes the door, she begins to squeal and scream and Se Ra asks her what’s wrong.

“Me? I’m in love~ Do Jin asked me to spend my future with him.”

“I heard something like that too. But I broke up with him instead.”

Yi Soo is shocked and wonders out loud if it’s because one didn’t love the other enough.

Dong Hyub’s other teacher complains to Yi Soo that he didn’t try at all. Yi Soo looks at his answer sheet and saw that he wrote out the things from the book that  she told him to copy out, and confirms that he actually read it all.

Jung Rok gets an SMS to notify him that Min Suk is at the bar right now, he was about to enter with Choi Yoon and female lawyer when he got it, and so he quickly turns around and leaves. The female lawyer tells him that she would like to spend some time with Choi Yoon (like having dinner somewhere else) anyway and asks him if it’s okay.

“No problem.” But when they leave he mutters “What… Meari is better than that…” And he calls Meari, telling her his plan.

Meari arrives at the restaurant and sees Choi Yoon and the female lawyer. She asks him about Meari but he answers “I don’t want to talk about her… I don’t think she’ll like it if I talk to other women about her.”

And then they notice Meari sitting down on a nearby table, drinking soju straight from the bottle.

“Ya YOU - “

“You’re such a weird ahjussi. Why do you talk to people sitting on other tables?”

He is about to go to her to stop her but she comes over instead and complains that it’s not fair for the female lawyer to be so pretty/tall/fit and gets to work with Choi Yoon too. Choi Yoon tells her to be quiet and stands up to stop her but she collapses.

Choi Yoon is then forced to take care of her. He carries her to his car and waits for her to wake up. Choi Yoon sits in the driver’s seat and gets irritated and feels uncomfortable and gets up and goes for a walk. After a while, he goes back but he cannot help but feel hot and stuffy (okay exaggeration but you know what I mean). When suddenly, Meari sits up and says “if you’re not going to do anything to me, then just drive me home. I need to pee.”

Tae San goes home and sees Choi Yoon with his sister. He gets off his car and Meari immediately she goes “I was being annoying and insisted on Yoon oppa to give me a lift home it’s not his fault.”

“I didn’t say anything. Go inside, it’s cold.”

The two friends greet each lightly and Choi Yoon hurries off.

Once inside, Tae San starts on his sister “If something like this happens again then I’ll - “

“Like what? Like Yoon oppa giving me a lift home? So what if it happens? My life isn’t yours! Why do you have to control it?”

“You - Yoon and you have a 17 year age gap. When you’re 33 he’s 50. And his past…”

“So? I DON’T CARE! I WILL LIKE HIM TILL I DIE!”

“You can do that. But Yoon doesn’t like you. I’ve known him for 20 years. He’s not going to like you. As a 41 year old, he cares more about getting old than love.”

Meari starts crying loudly and messily, but Tae San ignores her and goes to his room. Colin hears everything from the kitchen.

Do Jin is snipping up the ball of red wool happily, and singing aloud to the radio. Choi Yoon comes home and tells him that they have a baseball game coming up. In an extremely good mood, Do Jin accepts.

Jung Rok complains to Tae San that he doesn’t want to play and he wonders why Do Jin isn’t complaining this time. But then Jung Rok notices that Tae San has all these medicinal things stuck all over his arms and his neck (the ones that ease muscle pain?) and reluctantly accepts.

Meari witnesses Se Ra being criticised and tries to help, but it didn’t work. Se RA asks if she wants to grab dinner together but Meari replies “I don’t eat alone with females.”

“Me neither. I’m going now, bye.”

Meari mumbles to herself after she leaves “Why is she so fierce and demanding to my brother when she doesn’t dare speak any louder than a whisper to others.”

Se Ra goes home to Yi Soo shaving her legs. Yi Soo doesn’t look up to greet her friend but Se Ra goes on “Do Jin’s here too.”

Embarrassed, Yi Soo pretends that she’s blow drying her hair. (ok so this must be super high tech idk if she’s really shaving her legs but she was pressing it on my legs idek what it is i shave my legs with a razor)

Do Jin smirks at her getting flustered. Behind his back, she mimes to Se Ra, complaining that she just randomly brought him in. She excuses herself, and Do Jin tells Se Ra that Tae San has so many patches on him that you can’t tell if he’s wearing them or are the patches wearing him.

Do Jin tells her to get ready for dinner, he goes outside to wait for her. But Yi Soo receives a call. She gets ready and tells Do Jin that she cannot eat with him today. She makes up an excuse that her colleagues are here to meet her.

“Male or female?”

“Male teachers…”

“I’ll drive you over, where are you meeting?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll walk over there.”

Do Jin is still worried, and follows her over.

Yi Soo enters a cafe and two men greet her.

“We’re here about your mother.”

“Who? You must have made a mistake. Just because she took care of me for 12 years and you 23 years doesn’t make her my mum. Do not ever contact me ever again.”

Yi Soo leaves and starts crying. Do Jin appears and asks her if she’s okay, and what happened. Yi Soo continues sobbing.

“You don’t have to tell me now, but when you need it, I will always be there to help.”

“Now. I’m hungry.” Yi Soo wipes her eyes dry. Do Jin smiles and takes her to dinner.

Tae San gets a hair cut and he goes drinking by himself, thinking about the times with Se Ra. Jung Rok gets worried about his friend, but he doesn’t understand why he’s so upset when there are so many other women in the world. Tae San gets annoyed that he doesn’t understand and goes to the baseball court and practices hitting. Se Ra goes to the pit and watches him from afar.

The four have lunch together the next day and Tae San suggests that they should send Colin back to Japan. Choi Yoon agrees but Jung Rok says that Eun Hee would be really upset if they did that and says that he will take care of him. Do Jin looks at him “Excuse me, you’re under my care right now.”

Jung Rok goes to Meari and asks her to call Min Suk out. Meari tells Min Suk that Jung Rok has totally changed but Min Suk notices that Meari is lying straight away. Meari gets a call from Colin and Min Suk asks who he is, and then she goes to Jung Rok and asks if he’s his son.

Later, Jung Rok tells the others that they should really send Colin back now. Choi Yoon asks if Jung Rok has her number.

“I did until you deleted all my contacts off my phone!”

They then got Colin to come over and ask for his mother’s number. Colin says that he has packed already and will leave to go back to Japan tomorrow. He says that tonight he will spend it somewhere else, but the four gets worried and Do Jin tells him to spend it at the hotel/apartment thing.

Colin asks Do Jin who he thinks among the four of them liked his mum the best.

“Me. Your mum didn’t make all of us fall for her. We did it all ourselves.”

Later, Colin lies on his bed, looking at photos of Jung Rok and Tae San (with Meari), the magazine page of Do Jin’s interview, and Choi Yoon’s name card.

“If Im Tae San is my father, then Meari is my aunt. If Lee Jung Rok is my father, then … no way. If Choi Yoon is my father, then I may have started liking the woman who may become my stepmother. (WHAT!!!!!!!111 he likes Meari omg lol if Tae San/Yoon is his father lol how screwed up but ofc do jin has to be his father lol) If Kim Do Jin is my father, then everything should stay as normal.”

Do Jin tells Choi Yoon that he wants to propose to Yi Soo soon.

“WHAT? I thought you liked being independent. It’s been about 20 years since I’ve seen you fall for a woman this hard…”

“From now on, Seo Yi Soo is my everything. Are you jealous?”

“Before I was quite envious of Hong Se Ra… Now I’m more envious of Yi Soo. Okay in my next life, can I be your lover? Do Jin ssi~~~~~~~~”

The annoying teacher keeps trying to set Yi Soo up with her brother in law.

“Seriously, I’m dating someone at the moment.”

“Don’t be like this… you could get dumped soon.”

“I’m really not going to break up with him!”

“Or maybe he already dumped you but you haven’t realised yet… That perfect looking man… how could he - “

And they see Do Jin waiting for her at the school gate. Yi Soo instantly starts smiling sweetly at him.

“Omo, why is he here? I told him not to wait for me here~ Oh he can’t not see me for one day <3”

They go out for lunch at a restaurant and Do Jin mentions about living together again. Yi Soo refuses again and they are interrupted by a bunch of girls shouting “Omo omo Jung Yong Hwa (CN Blue)!!!”

They turn around and see Yong Hwa, and Yi Soo says “Oh! It’s our Yong Hwa!!”

Our Yong Hwa? Are you an aunty fan?! Pfft, I know celebrities too! Hmmm I wonder if Tae Hee is doing well these days (Kim Tae Hee), oh I wonder if Bin (Hyun Bin) is used to the military life yet…”

“Why are you so jealous… Hey since he’s here anyway, maybe I should flirt with him a bit…”

She turns around and waves at Yong Hwa. Yong Hwa sees her and quickly goes to their table. Turns out she was Yong Hwa teacher when he was in high school. She introduces him to her lover, Do Jin.

“Nice to meet you.”

“You too. You don’t need to speak formally to me at all, you are a generation older. Please.” And he brings up a chair and sits at the table.

“How have you been Yong Hwa? Heard that you went to Hong Kong recently.”

“Who hasn’t been to Hong Kong before.”

Yi Soo ignores Do Jin and says “I’m really proud of you! You’ve always tried really hard to reach your goals.”

“Idols are always playing around and partying everyday.”

“Does he always mumbles to himself like this!?” Yong Hwa asks Yi Soo.

“Um I don’t know, we haven’t been going out for a long time. Oh, I really love your songs! I can sing a few too!”

And then Do Jin starts singing “I’m singing my bluuuuuuuuues. Paran nunmure, paran seulpeume gildeullyeojyeo~” (Big Bang’s Blue as opposed to CN Blue….)

“Did I sing the wrong song? But this is the one she sings all the time!”

“Oh Ssaem you like Big Bang? I liked you a lot in high school though.”

“Oh really? I’m going to show it off to people!”

“Hey you! The people you came in are waiting for you. They are loners. (CN Blue’s I’m a loner)”

After Yong Hwa leaves, Yi Soo tells Do Jin that she wants to continue their conversation from before. She doesn’t want to live with him yet, because she wants to date with him at the time being. She wants to be bathed in pure and innocent love.

Se Ra needs money (Idk for what? sponser?). But no one would lend her any. Because she’s desperate, she goes to Park Min Suk.

Surprisingly, Min Suk agrees. “How much do you want?”

Se Ra gives her her car key as a guarantee.

Do Jin goes to find Colin to drive him to the airport but he is nowhere to be seen. He goes his fiends and tells them that he’s gone. They meet at the cafe and deduce that he may have left during the night, because he does not want to go back to Japan.

Jung Rok reckons it’s because he’s fallen in love.

“Who?”

“Meari.” And Jung Rok asks Meari if she spoke to him recently.

Turns out, he called this morning. He asked her if busking works in Korea and she replied that he can try at Hong Dae. Upon hearing this, the four men hurry and leave.

Colin is watching a girl busking (I think she’s Juniel?). He goes on after she leaves and starts playing his guitar and singing the Dooly song (it’s like Pororo but another cartoon that’s a dinosaur?) He successfully grabs the people’s attention.

He then starts singing CN Blue’s My Love (OST). The four men find him, and he makes eye contact with Do Jin. Do Jin listens to the lyrics…

He finishes and the two still doesn’t break eye contact.

“You sang really well.”

And the other 3 start to complain that he’s being irresponsible etc.

And then Colin says “I’ll tell you my purpose of coming to Korea now. Among the four of you, one is my father. Who could it be?”

They stare at the kid, and Colin looks at Do Jin.

Time Slip Dr. Jin: Episode 13 Recap

Last episode: Lee Ha Weung and Jin Hyuk enter the palace to greet the king.

_____________________

Lee Ha Weung introduced Jin Hyuk to the king for him to treat and care for him from now. But the king scoffs and says that he has plenty of doctors in the palace to look after him, and they are sent away.

Lee Ha Weung tells Jin Hyuk that the king acts more like a puppet controlled by Kim Byung Hee then an actual ruler of the kingdom - which is exactly the same as the history Jin Hyuk learned - and supposedly the king will die soon.

“But then, where do I come in? What am I meant to do?”

Kyung Tak tells Yeong Rae that they’ll have to act like they never met Yeong Hwi, and do not know where he is or that he’s dead.

“That’s the least I can do to protect my friend, and the last thing I can do to you two.”

In order to not let her mum worry, Yeong Rae tells her that her brother was stubborn and refused to come back, however, he is doing well so she does not need to worry about him. She then goes to her room and cries, letting out the emotions she’s been hiding since she got back.

Kim Byung Hee gets Kyung Tak to work in the king’s army, to look out for people who are against him and to eliminate them. Kyung Tak goes into his room and thinks about his friend and starts sobbing.

Lee Ha Weung brings Myung Pook in to greet the Queen Mother. She is very happy with his values and beliefs of the world. She then learns that Myung Pook is studying the book on how to successfully become a king (or w/e idk). Lee Ha Weung uses this chance to discuss with the Queen Mother about the king’s position in the kingdom right now.

Jin Hyuk and Heo Gwang tries to make the king drink a soup that can help with his coughing, but the king refuses flatly. Jin Hyuk tries again but the king gets angry and shouts “I’m the king. KING, how dare you even not listen to - ” and he chokes and has difficulty to breath.

Jin Hyuk needs to make a paper bag and tears some paper from the king’s books. He needs the king to breath in the carbon dioxide that he exhaled. (because he exhaled way too much CO2)

Lee Ha Weung asks the Queen Mother to adopt Myung Pook, because the king is weak and unhealthy, so it should be time to prepare for a new heir to the throne. The Queen Mother is outraged but then he tells her that neither of them wants the throne to end in Kim Byung Hee’s hands. And finally, he manages to calm her down and she listens to his proposals, and agrees.

Lee Ha Weung bumps into Kyung Tak in the palace, and thanks him for saving his life the other time by finding the maid who placed the poison on the Queen Mother’s plate. And the younger man replies that he wasn’t just trying to save him.

Myung Pook tells his father that he’s scared and nervous at being the ruler of the kingdom, he’s not sure if he’ll be able to control everyone and satisfy them. He replies that he will try his best to assist him into being a good and respected king.

Kyung Tak tells his father about the rumours of the Queen Mother adopting someone to be the next in line to the throne.

Jin Hyuk bumps into Yeong Rae on the streets and Yeong Rae tries to avoid him. But Jin Hyuk stops her from going anywhere. She asks him if he is going to comfort her saying that it was fate that her brother had to die.

“No. Even if I had another chance, I would have saved him.”

“I knew you would say that. That it’s all the job of a medical helper.”

Jin Hyuk tells her to come back to the hospital to help.

Kim Byung Hee gets the king to convince the Queen Mother to not adopt Myung Pook because it’s a rebellious act when the king is still alive. Lee Ha Weung arrives then and says “Good timing! When did I ever say that I was going to adopt your son? I only said that I liked the child and wanted to see him more often.”

The king and Kim Byung Hee leave, laughing all the way. The Queen Mother has realised that her action to adopt Myung Pook is not a good idea at the moment, leaving a disgruntled Lee Ha Weung behind.

Lee Ha Weung meets with Choon Hong and Chul Bal, and he thinks of an idea. The gold that Yeong Hwi stole from Kim Byung Hee, they should return it back to the owner. Chul Bal is about to ask for the reason when Jin Hyuk arrives and asks to speak to Choon Hong alone.

The doctor demands that he wants to know everything today and Choon Hong responds that he shall not cross paths with Yeong Rae.

“How do you know then? Why do you say that? How do you know that I’m from the future?”

“Do you really want to know…?” And she gets up and gets a … RUBIK’S CUBE(!?!??!?!?!!) from her drawer.

“How… did you get it?”

“Do you remember now?”

And then he remembers that there was a patient that he bumped into before he time traveled. The girl was on a wheelchair, playing with a rubik’s cube and ignored Jin Hyuk when he asked what she’s doing out late in the hospital and not in her room.

“It couldn’t be…”

“Yes. I’m that kid.”

“HOW?”

“I was 10, running away from the brothel when I fell down the cliff. When I woke up, the first person I saw was you, tending to my wounds. I couldn’t believe what happened, I thought it was all a dream… But when I was saved again from you at the lake, everything started to come back. I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”

Jin Hyuk is shocked. And he asks her to go on, and how on earth she came back. But Choon Hong lies that she doesn’t know, and the man chases after her and tells her that she must tell him.

“All I know is that - that when everything is restored to normal, then you will find a way. Therefore, please do not accept Yeong Rae’s feelings.”

Kyung Tak tells his father that Yeong Hwi is the anonymous assassin (WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU DO THAT). Kim Byung Hee is angry and orders for the Hong family to be treated as servants from now on as a punishment. Kyung Tak asks him if he could listen to his plans instead.

Kim Byung Ok (the man who is now working for Lee Ha Weung) tells Dae Gyun that he received news that if all goes well, they may be able to get their gold back.

Kyung Tak tells Yeong Rae that they have to get married in order to avoid being servants. And Yeong Rae refuses because she would rather -

“Don’t say that. HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT? Would you rather be a servant then being my wife?”

Yeong Rae doesn’t speak.

“Before he left… Yeong Hwi asked me to help protect you. Please, fulfill his wish…”

Chul Bal and his men pretend to be Chinese merchants and meet Dae Gyun. They show him the trunk of gold and instantly he tries to take it back. When they refused, Dae Gyun promises them that he will grant them business deals. Chul Bal agrees but he would like to have something of his that he could prove to his head that he actually met him.

Kim Byung Ok instantly tells him to give the contract he signed with the foreigners because that way he can get rid of it easily. He does not easily give it up and Chul Bal tells Kim Byung Ok to persuade him.

Dae Gyun is spotted by Kyung Tak going somewhere late at night suspiciously. He tells his men to follow him.

Jin Hyuk keeps thinking about what Choon Hong said. And the king speaks to him. The king tells him that he finds the palace a strange place too, and wishes that he could return to the times when he didn’t have any worries or troubles, and go back to his lover.

Jin Hyuk tells him that he feels the same way.

“Do you want to go back?”

“I don’t know… I’m not sure what I want…”

“I’m really slow. I didn’t realise what I want until I left. You should find out what is in the way before it’s too late.”

Choon Hong bumps into Yeong Rae in front of the hospital. Yeong Rae excuses herself to leave but Choon Hong asks if she would like to get a drink with her.

“You’re there to see Jin Hyuk right? Don’t be surprised… the way you look at him, everyone can tell.”

And then she asks about her marriage with Kyung Tak, and that she can guess that Jin Hyuk also has feelings for her.

“But even so… You guys cannot cross paths. It is your fate to marry Kyung Tak. If you mess with your fate, then Jin Hyuk will not be able to return to his world.”

“How did you know?”

“Let’s just say that I have some fortune telling skills. If you really care for Jin Hyuk, you should know that there is someone else back there waiting for him.”

Chul Bal successfully got the contract from Dae Gyun, and he gives it to Lee Ha Weung. He goes to the king next day to show him the contract. However, Kim Byung Hee was one step ahead.

He brings in the trunk of gold, along with the criminal, Kim Dae Gyun. He tells the king to punish his son with death, and that since he did not manage to control his son, he should also be punished.

All the other officers speak up to stop the king from killing Kim Byung Hee, because he did well for turning in his own son. Finally the king decides to banish Kim Dae Gyun away.

Lee Ha Weung is frustrated that he did not manage to pull Kim Byung Hee down. He tells Jin Hyuk, if he’s still his friend, that he needs to trust him with whatever he’s going to do in the future.

Kim Dae Gyun begs his father to forgive him and when he fails, he blames everything on Kyung Tak, as turns out, after his men tailed him, he found out what happened. But of course, Kim Byung Hee praises Kyung Tak for doing the right thing again.

Yeong Rae arrives to see Kim Byung Hee, and tells him that she agrees to marry Kyung Tak. Kim Byung Hee tells her that if he ultimately allows her to marry into his family, then she’ll have to stop being with Jin Hyuk and the hospital. Yeong Rae agrees that she will now be an obedient wife and daughter-in-law for the Kim’s. Kim Byung Hee is happy with her answers, and tells Kyung Tak to hold a grandeur wedding.

Later, Yeong Rae apologises to Kyung Tak for marrying him with intentions, but he stops her.

‘Maybe this is our fate. I will try my best to protect you and your family.”

Jin Hyuk learns that Yeong Rae is going to marry Kyung Tak after all. He takes a walk and thinks about what the king said “Don’t be like me and only realise after she leaves. Find out what you really want.”

He finds Yeong Rae and congratulates her on her marriage, and asks if she’s going to give up being a doctor.

“Yeah. You told me that there were never any female doctors in this era. I should just follow the history shouldn’t I?”

The king is feeling unwell. Jin Hyuk deduces that he may have Appendicitis. He wonders if this is supposed to be his time to pass away now… but he quickly erases the thought and prepares for an operation.

Lee Ha Weung learns that the king would need an operation to live, but Chul Bal tells him that this may be the best chance to allow the king to die. Lee Ha Weung goes to Jin Hyuk and tells him that he shouldn’t even begin with the operation, because they would need him dead right now.

Big: Episode 9 Recap

Last episode: Kyung Joon feels dizzy suddenly. He tells Da Ran that he may have just gone back to his body for a brief moment.

_____________________

Kyung Joon and Da Ran drive away from the airport.

“It was short. 5 seconds? 3? If I felt it so clearly, Yoon Jae would have felt it too.”

Kyung Joon’s body is found lying on the floor by the nurses. He is immediately sent for checkups. When they arrive at the hospital, they ask Se Young what happened. Se Young tells them, but she is suspicious that they’re so curious.

Kyung Joon’s aunt and uncle overhears ‘Yoon Jae’ asking about Kyung Joon. They confirm that ‘Yoon Jae’ must have some special connection with him.

Da Ran and Kyung Joon fights over something stupid. And Da Ran leaves with her suitcase, saying that she will spend her honeymoon holiday by herself. And Kyung Joon drives off.

Da Ran decides to spend the night at a sauna. And coincidentally, her family enters as she gets something to eat.

Kyung Joon goes home and sees a talisman in the fridge. He takes it out to examine and suddenly he hears Ma Ri’s voice calling him. He looks up and sees a Ma Ri looking down at him.

They both scream. Kyung Joon turns on the lights and Ma Ri says “Omo, you’re still here! Looks like my talisman is working.”

And she tells him that she has already moved over, to remind him who he really is.

Choong Shik gives up a call to Da Ran to see how she’s doing in China but he ends up finding her in the sauna. She runs away into the girls’ changing room and Choong Shik follows her in by accident. He gets kicked out but he’s caught by his parents. His mum shouts at him in exasperation “I could understand that you watch yadong (porn) but this…!!!”

Kyung Joon wonders if Da Ran really went to China by herself. If she didn’t, she would come home right? He goes outside and wonders if he should go to the station and see if she’s there.

This time, Da Ran’s parents and Choong Shik all see ‘Yoon Jae’. He makes up a story saying that he was called back for an emergency at the hospital and therefore he let Da Ran go by herself.

Da Ran’s family buy his story and he calls Da Ran, telling her that he let her go to China by herself etc etc etc.

“Did you get lectured?”

“Um… a little bit… Gotta go, bye!”

Da Ran is worried that Kyung Joon may get scolded (LOL exact opposite). Her parents are actually complaining about their daughter for not understanding the situation.

“Why are you guys degrading your daughter!? Seo Yoon Jae isn’t a great guy either!”

Se Young tells Yoon Jae’s mother that ‘Yoon Jae’ and Da Ran didn’t end up going to honeymoon instead. They came back to see the child who was involved in the same accident.

“What!? Who is this kid?”

“His name is Kang Kyung Joon. He’s in high school.”

Yoon Jae’s mum calls her husband and confirms that Seo Hee’s son is called Kyung Joon.

“I refuse to find him, do what you want!” And she hangs up. “Did Yoon Jae find him already…?” She then mumbles to herself.

Kyung Joon tells Da Ran to wait for him outside their house. He’s coming over with some food that her parents gave him to eat (alcohol and spicy food that he doesn’t like). She smiles at the sight of him arriving, out of breathe. Kyung Joon tells her to go home tomorrow to pick him up, and pretend that she’s back from China. She answers that she’ll think about it.

Kyung Joon goes through the things in Da Ran’s room. He sees the box where Da Ran put away of Yoon Jae’s things.

“Ahjussi, come back soon okay? Come back before I don’t want to leave.”

Yoon Jae’s mum goes to the hospital to visit ‘Kyung Joon’.

“I never got to see you, I didn’t get to see you when you were born. This is the first time for me to meet you. Kyung Joon-ah.” She sobs quietly but leaves really soon.

Kyung Joon learns that a woman came over to visit ‘Kyung Joon’ last night. He wonders who he is. Ma Ri comes over and is glad that Kyung Joon and Yoon Jae showed a slight sign of moving/coming back.

Kyung Joon asks Ma Ri to bring him to his uncle’s restaurant. He sees that it is exactly the same as his mum’s except for the amount of customers. Kyung Joon’s uncle and aunty sees him walking in and hide away. Kyung Joon manages to lure his uncle over to see him. He will give the number of his Russian Chef who worked at his mum’s restaurant in exchange for his things and luggage that they got out of the house before.

Kyug Joon’s aunt and uncle wonder what ‘Yoon Jae”s purpose is, why is he helping them?

Yoon Jae’s mum asks ‘Yoon Jae’ about the relationship between him and Kyung Joon. Kyung Joon tells her that they do not know each other before the accident. She tells him that before the accident, there was someone he was looking for whom I told you that I didn’t want you to find.

“Really?”

“Even if fate made you find him, I hope you will never ever acknowledge him ever.”

“I’m not interested in the past at all.”

“That’s good.”

Kyung Joon’s uncle and the dean are there at Da Ran’s family restaurant again. Hoping that one day they will regret that Da Ran’s parents chose each other instead of them.

However, they see how cute and sweet that act with each other, they try to comfort themselves that secretly, they hate each other inside.

Ma Ri sees her things of Yoon Jae that she hid in her room. She brings it to Da Ran, telling her that it’s her important things that she shouldn’t forget about. Da Ran opens the box and says “Oh! I left these things here… I almost forgot.”

She goes home and sees Kyung Joon, he has a big smile as he sees her arriving but as soon as he sees the box of things that carries Yoon Jae’s things, he smile falters.

Immaturely, he packs away all of Yoon Jae’s old clothes and dumps it all in Da Ran’s room. Da Ran accidentally drops Yoon Jae’s walkman (that was inside the box). She blames Kyung Joon that he broke it, but he says that it was already broken before because he listened to it last night.

“This is really important to Yoon Jae!”

“That’s right, everything is about Yoon Jae!”

“What do you mean!? Stop making me confused!”

“If you don’t want to get confused then you should just go home and leave me alone!!!!!!!!!!” Kyung Joon snaps back angrily and storms into his room.

The next morning, Da Ran tries to make it up to him but Kyung Joon is still angry and does not appreciate the food she cooked, nor the fresh juice she made for him. Da Ran holds her anger in and makes his favourite food - fried eggs with LOTS OF tomato sauce and brings it into his room, but turns out, he’s not there.

Kyung Joon is at the hospital, and his colleague thanks him for helping him with his thesis and gifts him a couple of concert tickets for him to watch it with Da Ran.

Kyung Joon realises his lack of maturity level from the children at the hospital. He goes home and sees that Da Ran has cleaned his room and his clothes. He asks her to look for this thing that he’s leaving underneath the breads at home, so when she comes back, she should look carefully for it.

“I’m just leaving one there, so if she finds it and comes along then I can’t help it!” He mumbles to himself.

He then brings Yoon Jae’s walkman out to get it repaired.

Da Ran finds the concert ticket and decides that it would be a waste if she doesn’t go. So she prepares herself to go out.

Ma Ri arrives at their house with a couple of movie tickets so she could go with Kyung Joon to watch. Ma Ri sees that Da Ran is going out and asks to swap her concert ticket with her movie tickets. Da Ran doesn’t know how to reply and Ma Ri already takes the concert ticket and leaves.

Kyung Joon is waiting for Da Ran, listening to the walkman, smiling happily.

Se Young goes to find Yoon Jae’s mum and overhears her on the phone with Yoon Jae’s dad.

“He’s not my son! My only son is Yoon Jae. He was only born to save Yoon Jae! I DON’T KNOW ANYONE CALLED KANG KYUNG JOON!”

Ma Ri turns up at the concert. Kyung Joon is disappointed.

“This was a chance to get back with Gil teacher…”

“Don’t. Let her handle it herself. She’s an adult afterall!”

“Don’t be like this. I’m going to go. Bye.”

Ma Ri watches Kyung Joon rushing off and whispers “Kyung Joon-ah… Do you still like her?”

Da Ran mutters to herself “I didn’t really want to go to that concert… So why am I so upset? Is it because I couldn’t go with him?”

Then, Kyung Joon appears. “Why are you here? These are not the tickets I gave you.”

Da Ran looks up and smiles.

“Are you happy that I’m here? No?”

“Yes!”

“Then I’ll stay. I fixed this by the way.” And he shows her the walkman.

They listen to the walkman. Da Ran stares at Kyung Joon.

“Why are you looking at me?” And Kyung Joon plugs out her earphone and puts it in his ear too (so both ears are plugged)

“I’m happy… I feel really happy. I don’t know why I feel this happy when you came here.”

Kyung Joon turns around and looks at her.
